Zero CO2 emissions and quieter operation

The Challenge

You do not have the budget to replace your current machine for an Electric version

You already have a machine that works perfectly well but you need an electric solution in your fleet.
Your current machine is still robust and able to work for many hours more.
By retrofitting an electric engine into your current machine you have recycled your fleet and saved the replacement cost.
Kubota has developed an electric retrofit kit solution for KX019-4 mini-excavators, available for new and used models.

Reduce, reuse and recycle with the retrofit revolution

The Solution

Electric Retrofit kit

By replacing the combustion engine block with an electrification system, rental companies, public works companies, local authorities, farms, etc. can support the ecological transition by carrying out decarbonised work with zero CO2 emissions and quieter operation.
Thanks to a controlled total cost of ownership, there is no increase in the cost of worksites, making the solution both ecologically and economically viable.
The machine carries on working the same as it did before.

What the kit itself contains

• BMS (battery management system)
• Battery pack
• Electric motor
• HMI (human-machine interface)
• Battery charger
• Cable harness
• Adapter parts

Adding advantages

The U36-4 Electric features a long 5.49 m reach and a 4.31 m dig depth for efficiency, it also has superb stability and operation, even in small spaces. All these advantages have already been proven in the U36-4 diesel version.

The electric version of the compact excavator adds some key advantages: It is not only quiet and emission-free, but its performance is just as reliable as that of a conventionally powered excavator. The 49.2 kWh lithium-ion battery is good for up to five hours of normal operation and it can be quickly recharged between shifts, if necessary.

The Kubota U36-4 Electric is ideal for the kind of restricted spaces often found in urban environments. As it has no emissions, it can be used in interior locations as well as low emission zones. Battery power means lower vibrations and less maintenance.
