Kubota`s new series of Solo Seed Drills
Eco-friendly and Cost-efficient

Soest, Germany

Kubota is introducing a new generation of solo seed drills. The rigid model SD1001 is available in 3.00m and 4.00m and the folding model SD1001F in 5.00m and 6.00m working width.

Today’s farmers face numerous challenges, such as rising costs for input and energy, the need to reduce herbicides, emerging weed resistance and extreme weather conditions. Kubota’s new eco-friendly and cost-efficient range of pneumatic solo seed drills supports customers to address these challenges effectively.

Sowing, independent of seedbed preparation, can be done at higher speeds and when conditions are best for soil, crops, and workload. It extends the time window for sowing, even in difficult weather conditions. Soil compaction or tractor tracks are reduced to a minimum as well as fuel consumption.

Compact design with large capacity and utmost precision

The rigid models SD1001 are equipped with a hopper capacity of 750l (1,000l with extension) and the mechanical metering device which allows any desired seed rate from 2kg – 380kg per hectare.

The seed hopper of the foldable models SD1001F offers a large capacity of 1,700l and is fitted with the electric driven metering device, ELDOS.

ISOBUS compatible

The folding model, SD1001F, is available as e-bas and e-com model. Both models are equipped with the electric driven ELDOS metering device. With the e-bas model, the electronic control is ensured by the Focus 3 terminal whereas the e-com model is fully ISOBUS controlled and can be steered by the Kubota IsoMatch Tellus GO+, the IsoMatch Tellus PRO or any other terminal.

Clamped CX-II coulter with/without press wheels

To enlarge the field of applications, Kubota has updated the design of the coulter bar featuring CX-II coulters for optimum soil penetration, less soil disturbance, and user-friendly adjustments like central depth adjustment. As a cost-effective alternative, e.g. for wet and sticky soils, the CX-II coulter is available as well without press wheel. The special curved design provides sufficient bearing capacity in light conditions and saves weight.

The coulters are clamped to the coulter bar: “With the flexible coulter brackets, the farmer can adjust the row spacing to the individual farming systems. From factory, we deliver a pre-set row distance of 12.5cm or 25.0cm. The coulter pressure can be adjusted from 5 to 50kg mechanically or by hydraulics with the folding model. This will ensure optimal penetration adjusted to the individual conditions, Sebastian Koers, Product Manager Seeding Technology, explains.

To increase comfort, a central seeding depth adjustment is standard on foldable models. A full range of options like pre-emergence markers, following harrow and many more are available to customize both models to individual needs.
