PRESS RELEASE
Kubota SD1001M New Cultivator-Mounted Seed Drill
Soest, Germany
Kubota proudly presents a new generation of cultivator-mounted seed drills.
Cost-efficient and straightforward
With the launch of the new SD1001M, Kubota complements the existing product group of cultivator-mounted seed drills by this cost-efficient and straightforward model.
The SD1001M can be mounted on existing Kubota power harrows or any other tillage implement by the universal coupling triangle. Seedbed preparation and drilling in one pass with this classic model saves time, fuel and avoids soil compaction in the tracks.
Flexible and precise
Sebastian Koers, Product Manager Seeding Technology, explains the new features of the SD1001M models: “Individual farming systems and requirements vary. With the new SD1001M models, we offer the farmer extra flexibility and precision. Our engineers have updated the design of the coulter bar, featuring CX-II coulters for optimum soil penetration, less soil disturbance and most precise seed placement at an even sowing depth. By the flexible coulter brackets, the coulters can be quickly adjusted to various row spacings. From factory, we deliver a pre-set row distance of 12.5cm or 25.0cm.”
As a cost-effective and light-weight alternative, the CX-II coulter is now also available without press wheel since the special curved disc design provides sufficient bearing capacity in light conditions.
Compact and user-friendly
The compact design of the cultivator-mounted seed drill with a close centre of gravity reduces the lifting power requirement of the machine. The SD1001M offers a hopper capacity of 750 or 1,000 litres. The tarpaulin cover of the hopper safely protects the seeds and distribution head against dust and humidity. It can be opened completely for filling by front loader, big bags or filling auger. The mechanical metering device allows seed rates from 2 to 380kg/ha from fine to bigger seeds. A full range of options like pre-emergence marker, following harrow and many more are available to customize the SD1001M to individual needs.
The SD1001M replaces the present models of SD1000M and SD2000M and will be available in working widths of 3.0 and 4.0 meters from September 2024.
